Meet the Therapist

Suzanne Puhalovic, PT

Suzanne is a 1994 graduate of New York University, School of Health Nursing and Arts Professions. She has almost 25 years of experience in outpatient orthopedics and she evaluates and treats a wide variety of acute, post-surgical and chronic conditions.

Over the years, Suzanne has developed a treatment approach that combines traditional orthopedic physical therapy techniques, such as joint mobilization, with a blend of myofascial release, muscle energy, craniosacral and strain counterstrain techniques. She is especially passionate about Strain Counterstrain because this gentle, indirect approach provides maximum relief of pain with minimal stress for the patient. Suzanne has been practicing yoga for over a decade and she incorporates yoga principles into her treatments including proper breathing, relaxation techniques, and meditation. Suzanne is also dedicated to educating her patients regarding posture, body mechanics and proper exercise form to ensure that they have long term success.

In 2004, Suzanne and her husband Dennis Gattoni started their own private practice in Manhattan, Innovative Approach Physical Therapy, offering one on one 45 minute treatment sessions. IAPT is proud to be a member of the prestigious Hospital for Special Surgery Rehabilitation Network. Suzanne is excited to begin practicing in a second location in New City, NY at  Lucky Elephant Yoga and Wellness.
